Public Awareness

National campaigns, myth-busting and awareness activities that support safe, realistic decisions.

For the public

Public awareness

The Association’s campaigns on burns prevention, skin cancer, safe practice and misleading advertising.

Much of what the public believes about plastic surgery comes from advertising and social media rather than from surgeons. The Association runs campaigns to correct that: on preventing burns in the home, on recognising skin cancer early, on what cosmetic advertising is allowed to claim, and on the difference between a licensed plastic surgeon and an unregulated practitioner.

Campaign material is produced in Arabic and English and is free for schools, clinics and community groups to use. Members regularly speak at public events and to the media as part of this work.
