The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) has published its annual Global Survey, covering procedures performed by plastic surgeons in 2024.
The headline figures
- 17.4 million surgical procedures and 20.5 million non-surgical procedures, close to 38 million in all.
- Eyelid surgery became the most common operation for the first time, with more than 2.1 million procedures, ahead of liposuction.
- Botulinum toxin remained the most common non-surgical treatment, at 7.8 million procedures.
- Hyaluronic acid filler came second, at 6.3 million procedures.
- The United States and Brazil performed the most procedures overall.
The survey is the most widely cited source of international data on aesthetic surgery, and it helps surgeons and regulators follow how practice is changing. ISAPS says data for 2025 is now being analysed for its next report.
